Kenai River King Salmon Fishing

We get a lot of calls every year saying it would be a dream or it's on their bucket list to catch a king salmon. If this is you or a family member and you’ve found your way to this page - then we may be able to help you out. We always try to fulfill our guests’ fishing dreams!

Due to the low abundance of king salmon throughout Alaska, we are booking certain areas and certain dates to catch some kings. Although the large Kenai kings are a lot fewer these days, there are still a lot of kings under 34 inches.

Kenai River King Salmon Run

May is probably the best month because you can troll for kings in the saltwater and catch some halibut on the same trip. The best dates would be May 15th to June 10th. The Kenai River usually has a slot limit - check the regulations or give us a call.

July 1st - July 10th is hard to book cause we’re not sure exactly what days we can fish - Fish and Game regulations are put in place. They usually let us know after the first of the year. If the number of king salmon comes back, Fish and Game could allow us to fish the whole month of July.

October 1st - May 15th - If you’re coming to Alaska during the off season, check with the office for a trip to go trolling for feeder kings.
